MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — Newly-obtained body camera video shows the moments police say Brazilian-born fitness influencer Armando Fogaça hit a Miami Beach police officer and took off, later getting into a crash on the MacArthur Causeway.

Prior to his arrest, the 37-year-old South Beach resident regularly posted videos to his hundreds of thousands of followers showing himself using his strength to crush watermelons and bend cooking pans.

But in May, he began to feel the weight of the law.

Video shows Miami Beach police Officer Anthony Guzman motioning for Fogaça, riding with his wife, to stop at Fifth Street and Lenox Avenue after police said he made an illegal right turn on red.

Fogaça initially stopped, then took off, police said, knocking Guzman to the ground.

“Ah, f---,” Guzman is heard saying as he moans in pain on the pavement.

Good Samaritans helped Guzman off the ground as he radioed in to alert fellow officers about what happened.

Police caught up to Fogaça after he crashed on the MacArthur Causeway. His wife was taken to the hospital.

In court following his arrest, Fogaça’s attorneys claimed he never intended to hit the officer.

As of Monday, Fogaça remained behind bars in the Metrowest Detention Center facing a host of charges, including aggravated battery on a police officer with a deadly weapon. He’s also being detained on an immigration hold.

He’s scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 7.
