OPA-LOCKA, Fla. — Security footage at an Opa-locka business showed two people walking past a checkout line with shopping baskets overflowing and heading straight out the door without paying.
It happened on Saturday at a Family Dollar located along Northwest 135th Street.
Once officers arrived, they said the suspects took off in a white Toyota. Several police units followed close behind as it fled.
Just down the street, the suspects crashed into four different cars at an intersection and one of the suspects jumped out and was immediately taken into custody.
The chase continued until the car stopped along the 700 block of Opa-locka boulevard with noticeable front-end damage and doors swung open.
That’s where officers arrested the driver.
Opa-locka police said they think this may be part of a series of Family Dollar thefts.
As of Sunday morning, no names or charges have been released.
