AVENTURA, Fla. — A well-known South Florida developer has passed away.
Family members have confirmed the passing of Donald Soffer.
He was 92 years old.
Soffer is known for developing the city of Aventura after buying the land in the 1960s, as well as Turnberry Associates, which developed Aventura Mall, among other prevalent structures in the city.
Currently, his daughter Jackie Soffer is the chair and CEO of Turnberry Associates, continuing his legacy.
A celebration of life for Donald Soffer will be held at the Aventura Turnberry Jewish Center on Monday, July 21 at 10 a.m.
