Miami Beach police: Man dies after shooting along Washington Avenue in South Beach

Police officers try to save wounded man’s life

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. — A man died early Sunday morning during a shooting in South Beach.

According to the Miami Beach Police Department, police officers responded shortly before 2:30 a.m., to Washington Avenue, between 15 and 16 streets.

“Officers immediately began the cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) process until Miami Beach Fire Rescue arrived,” Officer Christopher Bess, a spokesman for MBPD wrote in a statement.

According to Bess, Miami Beach Fire Rescue personnel took the wounded man to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center where a doctor pronounced him dead.

Detectives asked anyone with information about this or other cases to call Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-8477.
