ICE agent accused of drunken driving with kids in car in Florida Keys

Monroe Sheriff’s Office deputies arrest ICE agent near Bahia Honda

Deputy's video shows ICE agent's arrest for DUI with kids

BAHIA HONDA, Fla. — A federal immigration agent from Miami is facing DUI and child endangerment charges after deputies say he was driving drunk with his two children in the car in the Florida Keys.

Monroe County Sheriff’s Office deputies stopped 42-year-old Scott Deiseroth on Aug. 13 after reports of reckless driving in the lower Florida Keys.

Body camera footage shows Deiseroth identifying himself as a Department of Homeland Security employee, but he did not have an ID on him.

Deputies said he smelled of alcohol, appeared disoriented, and was about 100 miles from where he thought he was.

He became combative during sobriety tests and asked a deputy if he was Haitian, which the deputy dismissed as irrelevant, authorities said.

Deiseroth was arrested after failing the tests near Bahia Honda. His children were turned over to their mother.

ICE has not fired Deiseroth but said he is expected to undergo alcohol treatment.
