Records show several Broward County restaurants were ordered shut last week after inspectors documented serious sanitation issues, including extensive rodent activity at one location where roughly 100 droppings were found in food preparation and storage areas.

Other violations included live roaches, flying insects, and conditions that could contaminate food or food-contact surfaces.

No kitchens in Miami-Dade or the Florida Keys were ordered shut last week. All the places mentioned were allowed to re-open following an ordered cleanup and then a re-inspection.
