The three-day annual convention, which caters to fans of comic books, anime, science fiction, and fantasy, is from Friday to Sunday at the Miami Beach Convention Center.

On Day 2 of the three-day event, conventiongoers had the chance to see a full-size replica of the iconic DeLorean time machine from “Back to the Future.”

“It’s a 1981 DeLorean,” said Ken, the creator and owner of the replica, who recently moved to Miami. “It’s been eight years of research, two years of putting it together — and about 20 years of enjoying it.”

Ken said he’s taken the car to hundreds of events, but this is his first major Supercon in South Florida.

“The reaction is always the best part,” he said. “People smile from ear to ear, they’re just happy and excited. It’s nostalgic, it’s fun — there’s quite a community here.”

Fans roamed the convention floor in elaborate costumes, representing everything from anime and horror films to sci-fi classics.

The annual convention, which caters to fans of comic books, anime, science fiction and fantasy, runs from Friday through Sunday at the Miami Beach Convention Center.
